CAFA President James Bourque has called a Special Meeting with all the CAFA Family Organization Representatives and CAFA Board Members for the purpose of making and going over the final plans for Acadian Heritage Family Day on the 27th of August, 2005 in Rayne, La.  We will go over the program and Treas. Woody Hebert will report and go over his booth information.  This meeting will be at City Hall in Scott, La. on Saturday June 25, 2005 from 9:30 am until Noon.

Sainte Famille Cemetery in Falmouth, Nova Scotia is an ongoing effort to re-establish the cemetery where many of the 1600's through 1755 Acadian settlers in Nova Scotia are buried.  Please read about the ongoing efforts at St. Famille.  Many Acadian descendants from across our land and other parts of the world have already bought a brick ($35.00 US or $50.00 Canadian) and it is very impressive indeed.  Many of our cousins visited this site during the CMA 2004 Nova Scotia during August 2004.  Many moving ceremonies took place at the cemetery.  This was to be a part of a real estate development until the remains of our ancestors were discovered while digging the footings for new houses.        After showing to an international audience across five continents,
"Gumb-Oh! Là! Là!," the first-ever Louisiana French television documentary series,
will now air on Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) on Sundays at 2:30 P.M. beginning February 1.  According to LPB, certain episodes will also air during prime time.

"Gumb-Oh! Là! Là!" is a compelling testimonial to the perseverance of Louisiana's French culture in the 21st century.  Featured in the thirteen 30-minute programs are individuals who continue to live in the language and traditions of their Louisiana ancestors.  Subjects span the region of French Louisiana and include everyday Cajuns, Creoles and Native Americans along
with notable local musicians, artists and educators.  All thirteen programs are subtitled in English.

Louisiane à la Carte is a non-profit company whose mission is to promote and develop Louisiana French products and services.  Initiatives such as this media project will encourage more local productions that celebrate and validate Louisiana's authentic French culture.  Up next for Louisiane à la Carte is the production of a new series set to coincide with the up-coming
World Acadian Congress to be held this summer in Nova Scotia.  "Acadie: North and South" will focus on the Acadian-Cajun connection.
